Over the bridge

I wanted to hop along to share the sad news that Buttons left us this week. He was 10 and a half, pretty extraordinary I think and very healthy to the end.

He went peacefully in his sleep early Monday morning 28th October 2019. We are all really distraught and trying to decide on the best kind of memorial.

I am so glad he doesn’t seem to have suffered. He hadn’t been sick for years and although he had slowed down a lot and slept more and more over the last year or two, he was still amazing and his usual wonderful self.

Still going and new friends

 Very sadly I have zero time to update the blog these days. Sorry peeps.
Mainly because Buttons has another baby brother! (He just turned 1). Big brother is 7 and the school runs seem to take over life... and I work three jobs!

Rest assured though Buttons is still the centre of our world. He lives in the kitchen and although he’s nearly ten and slowing down, he loves hoping around and playing with the kids toys!

He still knows exactly how how many millimetres he can keep between himself and a baby to avoid capture!

Happy Birthday

Button's is 7.  Roughly.  He was rescued so we only roughly know he was born in May or June 2009. He is a great big brother (my almost 5 year old thinks it's hilarious that Button's is older than him!).  He is also doing really really well.  So healthy.  He had his annual health check and vacs in May (always a happy birthday), and the vet said that if she didn't know him, she would guess he was about 3 years old based on his health.

We are blessed to have this little bundle of attitude in our lives.  And he's still just as teenager-y as ever!

Crackers

Buttons likes to sit on my office chair when I'm away. Yesterday for the first time, when I returned, he was startled and instead of jumping down he jumped UP onto the desk!

He then realised he didn't like it, as its a bit shiny, and tried to escape into my post pigeon hole!!!! 

It must have been nice in there, or he found some snacks, because he didn't come out for a while... I began to think he'd gotten stuck!

Buttons gets his nails clipped - as he gets older and wiser (about 6 human years old now) he is happier to sit still for this. 

He still lets his disapproval known in the death stare when I get the camera on him though!

Kale

Continuing our kale testing week. Black curly Kale went down a treat.

Buttons was unsure about purple kale! Although it had disappeared the next morning so he either relented and ate the offensive leaf or found a good hiding place!

Little Toothy Visitors

Buttons has temporary visitors to share his room for a week... Whiskey and Guiness the gerbils are staying for Christmas, as their owner, my friend who often looks after Buttons when we travel, has gone home to Austria for Christmas. 

He's not impressed that they have invaded his room 😉
